In commercial settings, we avoid the mainstream to create environments that are both functional and appealing – built within your budget. Our work can be seen in medical waiting rooms, professional offices, and retail settings.
green design
Chelle Design Group is a proud member of the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC). Why go green? Because the way we live today can help restore the world we leave for the next generation. It's also surprisingly painless and easy – Green design is all about selecting materials that are good for the earth, good for the future, and wonderful for your home. It's typically not more expensive than traditional design and can be accomplished in any aesthetic, without compromising style.
Green design involves any one or more of the following...
- Materials manufactured from renewable resources and harvested in a sustainable manner
- Recycled, recyclable, salvaged, or re-used materials
- Materials that can be disposed of safely
- Materials that will not adversely affect human health
- Materials that will contribute to operating energy efficiency
- Durable, long-life materials requiring little or no additional finishes, and minimal maintenance
- Omission of unnecessary materials and reduction of
- quantities of all materials
- Materials that require minimal manufacturing and processing
- Selection of local materials when possible
- Chelle Design Group was recently featured on a spin-off to the locally popular television show, Builders & Buyers. Greener Ways is a reality series that showcases eco-friendly homes while sharing innovative renewable products and information. The segment toured CDG's sustainable Libertyville office while Michelle presented all different "green" design materials, finishes and fabrics.
